Moroccan Cobalto Calcite Specimen

Cobalto Calcite, also known as Aphrodite Stone, is a rare variety of calcite that contains trace amounts of cobalt. Usually, the amount of cobalt within determines how pink the stone is. This mineral was first discovered in the Calamita mine in Tuscany, Italy. Since then, only a handful of localities have been found throughout the world - including the Bou Azzer Mine that this piece is from in Morocco.

This standing geode formation shows pink bubbly botryoidal crystals with a glittery pearly finish. It will sit nicely on your bookshelf, display, or desk.

You will be getting the exact crystal pictured. It measures approx 3" x 3" x 1.5".
