Intermediate Silversmithing: Chain Making

We will be taking a look at chain making - a process that involves repetition, creativity, and zen. In this project, we will make a completely custom chain bracelet that will require measuring, designing, soldering your links closed with a torch, forming, light sawing, filing, choosing and fitting a clasp, texturing, and finishing. We'll also go over the fundamentals of laser & pulse welding with our Orion Sunstone© welder. All supplies are included. Prerequisite of "Intro to Silversmithing Rings OR Claw Setting" with Alexa Suess is required.
This is a fabrication intensive class and will not involve stone setting.
Since we will be working with hand tools and treatment chemicals, please wear clothes you wouldn't mind getting dirty. We do not recommend attending this class if you are pregnant.
This will be an approx 3.5 hour workshop. Workshop location: Common Ground, 123 Main St. Ste C, Greenport NY 11944. Due to insurance requirements, all attendees must be 18 years of age or older.
