Pyrized Ammonite Fossil Path Necklace - One of a Kind

Sale price$220.00 USD

A signature design by Alexa Suess. This incredibly unique ammonite fossil is captured in a band of silver and then hung on a chain that wraps around the setting. We love how this pendant moves on the wearer.

Ammonites are a group of extinct molluscs that date back to the Cretaceous Period 120 million years ago. The fossilized remains of these sea creatures are perhaps the most popular fossils today and these iridescent fossils are no exception.

This fossil is 100% natural and not coated or treated. Its golden shine comes from "pyritization" - the millennia long process where depositions of iron and sulfur (known as pyrite) crystallize in the pores and cavities of an organic organism like an ammonite. The result is this gorgeous gold sheen that's very unusual.

Spiritually, fossilized ammonite is known to be a stone of ancestral wisdom and knowledge.
