Ammonites are a group of extinct molluscs that date back to the Cretaceous Period 120 million years ago. The fossilized remains of these sea creatures are perhaps the most popular fossils today and these iridescent fossils are no exception.
This fossil is 100% natural and not coated or treated. Its iridescent shine comes from fossilized aragonite - the same mineral that gives pearls their luminescent shine.
Spiritually, fossilized ammonite is known to be a stone of ancestral wisdom and knowledge.
