Large Cubic Peruvian Pyrite Specimen

Sale price$180.00 USD

This gorgeous oversize cube mined in Peru is a lovely example of microcrystalline cubic pyrite that Peru is known for.

This metallic mineral has a fascinating past. Pyrite’s name comes from the Greek, pyrites lithos, “the stone which strikes fire." In the early mining days of California, novice gold prospectors mistook tiny pieces of pyrite for gold when panning. Thus, its common nickname: fool's gold. It takes a few natural 'habits' - or forms, often presenting in almost perfect cubes or octahedrons.

Spiritually, pyrite is known for confidence, wealth, and abundance.
