Mini Peruvian Pyrite Cluster
These glittery pieces from Peru are a lovely example of microcrystalline cubic pyrite.
This metallic mineral has a fascinating past. Pyrite’s name comes from the Greek, pyrites lithos, “the stone which strikes fire." In the early mining days of California, novice gold prospectors mistook tiny pieces of pyrite for gold when panning. Thus, its common nickname: fool's gold. It takes a few natural 'habits' - or forms, often presenting in almost perfect cubes or octahedrons.
Spiritually, pyrite is known for confidence, wealth, and abundance.
